Lately, I’ve been incredibly intimidated by a blank page. Thinking is hard! Creating is hard! I forget that catharsis can be found through creativity, so this month, I haven’t felt much catharsis.
Once again, I find myself at the end of another month, writing for this silly newsletter, pondering what it means to matter and consume and exhale and exist.
But that’s just Scorpio season baby!! Emotions are heightened, intensity is dialed to over 100, and to be honest, I thrive off this (ty to my Scorpio placements). Or suffer. It’s situational!
Before we get into a very brief installment of what I enjoyed this month, I’d be remiss to not mention the current events happening. In my freshman year of college, I wrote a paper about social media as a tool for activism, and I still find myself thinking about this general idea, in its positives and negatives—to organize, to virtue signal, to spread information, to spread misinformation, to grieve, to argue, to build community. But the thesis was that social media is an effective tool for social activism, and I think I would still agree with that.
I encourage you to call your reps and demand a ceasefire in Gaza. Cynical as things may be, I still believe in collective power—it’s not to be underestimated.
